It started about ten years ago with something simple: making elderberry syrup for my own family, because I wanted natural products I could trust.
Before long I was making salves for family and friends, and what began around my kitchen table slowly grew into this little business. About four years ago I fell in love with sourdough baking, and it quickly became a big part of what I do — these days that means fresh sourdough sandwich loaves, homemade baked goods, and my signature Scuffins, a cross between a scone and a muffin.
Good food starts with good ingredients, so I use the highest-quality ones I can find — organic or locally sourced whenever possible, from other local farms and small businesses I love partnering with. I'm married to the most supportive husband, who helps turn my ideas into reality, and we're raising three kids together. If you've stopped by my booth at a market, you've probably met my daughter — my little helper, cashier, taste tester, and biggest cheerleader.
This summer, a long-held dream is finally coming true: my own little farm stand, the Bread Shed. None of it would have happened without this community, and I'm so glad you're here. — Courtney
